Boca Raton’s theater community has been revived with the new Wick Theatre & Costume Museum. Picked up by Costume World entrepreneur and theater lover Marilyn Wick, the building formally known as the Caldwell Theatre has undergone a much needed facelift. There is even the new Broadway Collection Museum alongside it, boasting the largest collection of some of the most iconic theater costumes in the country.
This Boca Raton theater’s mission is to provide the highest level of entertainment in the region, with the finest talent from Florida, New York, and beyond. And already the Wick Theatre is meeting these high standards—The Sound of Music, the company’s inaugural show, has just finished its run with a collection of accolades from its audience of industry professionals and theatre goers.
Wick Theatre’s Broadway Series
The Wick Theatre’s season will continue with five more shows; next up for the popular holiday season is Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, running from November 14th to December 25th. Other shows part of the Broadway Series include 42nd Street, opening in January, The Full Monty, Steel Magnolias and Ain’t Misbehavin’.
Opening Gala Nights
The Wick Theatre adds a touch of glam with its opening gala nights for members of The Producers Forum. In addition to being the first to watch the new show on opening night, members will enjoy red carpet arrival and valet parking, an opulent dinner and open bar, celebratory after party, plus a cast meet and green luncheon and many more exclusive benefits.
Theatre Dining
Dining at the Wick Theatre is a unique experience, where you’ll be transported to New York City, with the recreation of the Tavern-on-the-Green restaurant. Enjoy an elegant lunch or dinner, where your meal will be served on fine china, silver and crystal glassware. The theater restaurant includes Kosher options as well.
Broadway Collection Museum
The Broadway Collection Museum holds the Wick Theatre’s impressive costume collection, and is a must-see for art and theater lovers. This collection celebrates America’s musical theater history, and includes the finest costumes created by the most legendary Broadway designers. Here is where you’ll be able to view the Yule Brynner original King and I costume. You’ll be able to take an interactive tour for a rare behind-the-scenes look at the world of Broadway and live theater. A visit to the Broadway Collection Museum makes for a captivating afternoon, and tours can be combined with luncheons, high tea service, and of course, the shows.
